BDO Malta strengthens audit leadership team

The appointments further strengthen the firm’s audit and assurance practice led by Partner and Head of Audit Sam Spiridonov, enhancing BDO Malta’s ability to support clients operating within an increasingly complex regulatory and financial reporting environment.

Together, Sam Spiridonov, Andrea Kis and Edward Bugeja now form a strengthened audit leadership team focused on delivering consistently high-quality audit services across a broad portfolio of local and international clients.

Leadership built on technical expertise and experience

Sam Spiridonov leads BDO Malta’s audit service line, overseeing technical audit standards across engagements while representing the firm within the wider BDO network on IFRS and audit quality matters.

Andrea Kis joined BDO Malta in 2008 and has played a central role in leading the firm’s Audit Quality function, including oversight of its System of Quality Management. In her new role as Audit Director, she will take on a more engagement-focused leadership position while continuing to contribute to quality and consistency across the audit practice.

Edward Bugeja brings extensive experience in statutory audit and financial reporting across regulated sectors, including banking, investment services and funds. Since joining BDO Malta in 2019, he has progressed through the audit function, leading engagements for SMEs, listed entities and regulated financial institutions, while supporting the consistent application of audit methodology and quality standards across a wide range of assignments.
