Svilena Vaklinova

Svilena is the Indirect Tax Manager within the Tax Team of BDO Malta. Her main area of practice is managing ongoing VAT compliance matters for clients operating in various industries such as the gaming, insurance, technology and other industries. Her responsibilities require her to liaise with the Authorities in respect of any VAT-related requests and VAT audits. As part of the tax advisory team, Svilena is also extensively involved in VAT advisory work. 

Education

Svilena holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce and a Master's degree in Accounting and Control. Soon after graduation, she commenced her professional path as an accountant in a local firm, and later, in 2018, she joined the BDO family as a VAT specialist. In 2023, Svilena completed the MIT Course on Taxation, and she is now part of the MIT Indirect Tax Technical Committee.
