MFSA issues consultation paper on The Virtual Financial Assets Regulations

Following the positive feedback the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) received for the introduction of a new legislative framework regulating ICOs and the provision of services in relation to virtual currencies, the MFSA issued a consultation paper on a set of Regulations to be issued in terms of the Virtual Financial Assets Act.

The MFSA drafted the following legal notice which sets out regulations on:

  1. Exemptions;
  2. Fees;
  3. Control of assets;
  4. Administrative penalties and appeals;

The MFSA is seeking feedback from the public until 20th July.
