About the role
A vacancy for the position of a Immigration Manager has arisen within our Tax department. The role is an exciting opportunity for ideal candidates to get involved and build a career in challenging areas, across a number of regulated industries.
Responsibilities include
- Act as a key point of contact within the firm for the immigration clients. This will involve responding quickly to, as well as anticipating, client requests/needs, keeping clients informed of progress in relation to all aspects of the service provided, and maintaining regular contact with clients Take a lead with respect to developing new opportunities and business in the immigration service line. This includes actively looking for new business through conferences and other avenues.
- To take full responsibility for project delivery on the immigration tax clients’ portfolios
- Review of work prepared by more junior members of staff
- Ensure that the firm’s quality control procedures are adhered to including partner review Identify risk and technical matters, as well as selling opportunities, to the Partners, whilst exercising judgement within agreed parameters
- Work as part of tax team with tax managers within the business group, and provide support to the rest of the Tax team
- Provide training to more junior staff both on the job and through monitoring exam and on the job performance, whilst consistently providing feedback
- Must be able to recognise business development opportunities and inform and work with the Partners and the client to develop these when they arise
- Participate in bids/proposals for new work
- Might be required to travel from time to time for work purposes
Qualifications required
- Technical and working practical knowledge of the various immigration offerings in Malta, that includes but is not limited to the Global Residence Programme, The Residence Programme, the Malta Retirement Programme, other tax residence programmes, the Malta Permanent Residence Programme (or alternative permanent VISA programme) and the applicable citizenship programme available in Malta
- Ability to coordinate and manage the various residence permit applications prepared by more junior staff members of the team.
- Strong communicator and self-motivated
- Able to work with strict deadlines
- Completely fluent in English
