We are currently searching for a motivated and talented professional ESG Consultant to join our growing audit team.


About the role

The Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Consultant will be responsible for developing and overseeing environmental, social and corporate governance policies and procedures across the firm. The ESG Consultant will provide technical expertise on key issues related to environmental and social impact assessment and on sustainability risks in the design, preparation, implementation and supervision of BDO Malta’s operations taking into consideration best industry practices and standards.

The ESG Consultant will be also responsible to lead BDO Malta’s ESG service-line through which BDO’s clients will receive professional advice and assistance in the area, ensuring they are compliant with industry and regulatory requirements.


Duties and responsibilities

  • Ensuring BDO Malta’s compliance to BDO’s Net Zero Policy and acting as internal ESG champion;
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring a corporate-level Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS), which will be implemented in all business areas, across all operational levels;
  • Supporting clients in setting and operationalizing their ESG strategies, defining frameworks for measuring and monitoring their impacts, as well as carrying out assurance on ESG reports
  • Conducting technical research in support of ESG projects and proposals
  • Conducting ESG policy analyses, readiness assessments, due diligence and roadmap development for public and private sector clients;
  • Provide compliance and implementation support to clients;
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of complex data to identify 
  • ESG performance, including market, competitor and internal analysis;
  • Support clients in developing an ESG strategy;
  • Supporting business development to further expand BDO’s ESG-related services
  • Being a champion of and supporting in the implementation of BDO Malta’s own ESG strategy
